OUR APPROACH

Seaboard Weatherproofing & Restoration approaches all projects – big or small – with sound planning, creative problem-solving and meticulous attention to detail. Our priorities are simple: safety, quality and productivity.

IMPECCABLE PLANNING

The perfect project begins with innovative, collaborative solutions. Seaboard works with each owner’s team – including architects, engineers, owner’s representatives and property managers – to truly understand the project from every vantage point. In the process, Seaboard shares the owner’s vision, goals, anticipated challenges and expectations. This includes:

  • Proposing creative solutions that are sensitive to the project integrity and budget

  • Co-creating a realistic timeline and operations plan for contracted work

  • Assembling the right work crew with the right experience for the job

  • Adapting the vision and designs of architects and engineers to skilled craftsmen

PROJECT INSIGHT

Getting your project off the ground means assessing the situation properly to best allocate resources and achieve optimal results. At Seaboard, we emphasize the importance of not only getting all the blueprints and paperwork in order, but also taking all necessary steps on-site to ensure efficient, outstanding restoration practices. This includes:

  • Briefing our crews on buildings’ history and significance, fostering personal and professional motivation

  • Examining the condition of exterior walls, façades and appurtenances

  • Staffing the worksite with an in-house, designated rigging foreman to supervise scaffold operations

  • Sourcing materials that best preserve the integrity and appearance of the building

UNMATCHED EXECUTION

At Seaboard, it’s not just about getting the job done, but getting the job done correctly, on time and on budget. Our detail-oriented yet efficient approach works in accordance with local laws and an aesthetic eye. This includes:

  • Restoring structures in compliance with NYC Local Law 11, historical landmark preservation requirements and restoration design documents

  • Ensuring safety and OSHA compliance on every worksite and every project

  • Executing jobs efficiently, especially when time is of the essence

  • Focusing on detail to recreate the look and feel of historic buildings

GOING THE EXTRA MILE

Throughout the restoration process, Seaboard does all the little things that wind up making a big difference, both in the building and in the budget. This includes:

  • Communicating regularly to discuss progress and unexpected challenges

  • Working as quietly and creatively as possible to minimize disruption for the general public

  • Recycling and reusing materials on the job site, when appropriate, in compliance with LEED requirements

  • Becoming an integral part of the “Restoration Team” by respecting the project budget and participating in value engineering and problem-solving
